My friend Beth has my blog included on the blog roll on her blog. (As an aside, wow, that's a lot of blogs in one sentence.) She's got a little widget that tells you when each of the blogs on her blog roll has last been updated. Mine has been second from the bottom from quite some time, but I've taken great solace in the fact that I'm still above her friend Roger Hutchinson's blog. I figured as long as someone is a bigger blog slacker than I am, I'm good. Today I actually clicked on the link to Roger's blog to discover that the reason he hasn't updated it in 5 weeks is because he has a lovely new website, which he has apparently been happily updating while I was using him as a benchmark for slackerage.
So now I feel like I need to blog about something. I haven't been blogging lately because, while I have a million things rolling around in my head, I've been lacking the concentration and the time to actually turn them into coherent thoughts. Sometimes just getting something down is a good jump start, though, so for lack of something better to talk about, I bring you today's installment of my children's shoe obsession.
H's feet have sadly stayed size 6 for the last couple of months, so I've been stuck with the shoes he has. Thankfully, the nice people at See Kai Run have provided me with a lovely excuse to buy a new pair anyway: During November and December, when you buy a pair on the SKR website, they'll donate a pair to a child in need. Of course, ordering from the website means I can't get instant gratification by ordering from Zappos, but sometimes you have to make these little sacrifices. ;-)
Anyway, the Preschoolians have, quite frankly, not held up terribly well, especially compared to his See Kai Runs, and I'm finding I prefer the thicker soles on the SKRs to the fancy "Visu-Fit" business on the Preschoolians, so I'd like to find something in a brown to replace the Preschoolians. I really like these:
Naturally, they don't have them in his size. They do have these, which are not exactly what I was looking for, but still pretty cute:
And they have these, which aren't brown, but I have been coveting. And they're on sale!
They don't have them in H's size, but they do have them in the next size up, and they'd make a great spring shoe.
In other shoe news, I see that Bobux has now come out with a line of hard soled shoes. I like these, and they have half sizes, which would be awesome for buying right now!
I've heard good things about Pedipeds, too, and they've also come out with a hard soled option. I'm loving that all the good soft soled shoe people are jumping on board the hard soled train! They don't have anything nearly as cute as the SKRs, but there's nothing wrong with a classic loafer or a plain old pair of sneaks:
He also needs a pair of slippers - right now he either wanders around in just his socks, complaining that his feet are cold, or tries to shove his Crocs on over his socks. I'm kind of loving these Hanna Anderssons, and H is quite partial to penguins.
So there you have it. An entire post about nothing, just so I'm not at the bottom of Beth's blog roll anymore. Take that! I'm on the top of the list! HAH! At least until tomorrow, when those damn Cake Wrecks people find another hideous cake to talk about.
