A Luddite's Look at Blogging

The other day I mentioned to my husband that one my blog posts had generated more site visits than any other post I'd ever written. His response was somewhat less than enthusiastic:

Me: My blog post from yesterday had a new record for site visits!
Him: Blog? You have a blog? [I've had this blog for THREE YEARS, people.]
Me: Yes, my blog. I've mentioned it before.
Him: Is this part of that Facebook thng? Do you kidnap people on it? [He's completely obsessed with that silly kidnapping application. Thanks a lot, Sladek. ;-)]
Me: No, it's separate from Facebook. It's a blog. No kidnapping.
Him: Well, what do you put on it? Stuff about yourself?
Me:  I write about all kinds of things; whatever's on my mind, really.
Him: Huh. And people READ this? Who cares what you have to say about anything?
Me: EXCUSE ME?
Him: Umm... er... what I mean is, why would some complete stranger care what some other complete stranger out there on the internet thinks?
Me: I don't know... I've been told I'm a good writer, and sometimes pretty funny.
Him: Who told you that? The [name he uses to refer to my group of three closest internet friends]?
Me: No, not them. Some of those complete strangers who don't care what I think...
Him: They must be stalkers.

So there you have it, readers of this blog.  According to my husband, you're all stalkers.
