While that guy sounds like a complete jerk and I don't think he has the right to demand rudely to have a pass to get through security to help his wife, I don't think it's a TSA regulation that prevents them from giving out passes for him go through. I'm not sure how it works, I guess, but Jeff got a pass to come through security with me when I was flying with Lyle and the cat last summer to help us to the gate, and they made it seem like that was totally normal. It hadn't even occurred to me to ask b/c I didn't know they could do that, but they offered, so we were like, YES we would like that pass!


I seem to recall traveling at 5 months pregnant with a 21 month old toddler in tow. I wouldn't exactly say that it was fun, but with a little planning, it was doable.

I'm sure that guy could have gotten a pass if he had asked for one at the proper place. In the security line? Not the right place.
